Juanna Thompson for Sylvan Lake Town Council

Hello Sylvan Lake Residents!
You May Be Asking - Who is Juanna Thompson?

Juanna is a Professional Biologist, mother, music teacher, scuba diver and amateur photographer. She is an avid traveler - venturing to the world’s most remote ecosystems in search of endangered species. Her favorite place in the world? Kayaking in Antarctica with penguins but cage-diving with great white sharks in South Africa is a close second!
She loves a good cup of coffee and the great outdoors.
Juanna has been a long-time Central Alberta resident. She first moved to Sylvan Lake in the spring of 2005 (Pierview) and eventually bought her first house (a cottage) in the Summer Village of Parkland Beach, Gull Lake. She has remained connected with Sylvan Lake for over 20 years, visiting family (who have resided at the Lake since 2003) and finally becoming a full-time resident in 2022.

She enjoys kayaking & birdwatching around Sylvan Lake as well as spending time with family camping in Alberta’s beautiful natural spaces.
